Sealants
To protect your teeth against tooth decay, Dr. Farmer may place one or more dental sealants. A sealant is a tooth-colored or clear plastic material that is applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where tooth decay occurs the most. Dental sealants creates smooth surfaces over the pits and grooves of the back teeth that are easier to keep clean and free from decay with daily brushing and flossing.
Dr. Farmer recommends having dental sealants placed on the back teeth as soon as those teeth erupt, which usually occurs between the ages of six and twelve.
